Onofiok Luke: A Brand That Must Not Be Changed - Ini Ememobong

The Publicity Secretary of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Comrade Ini Ememobong, Wednesday, lauded the unprecedented feat recorded by the Speaker of the 6th Assembly, Rt Hon (Barr) Onofiok Luke especially the unconventional legislative approach he brought to bear in the last eight years of service in the state legislature. Comr Ememobong who made the remarks during the constituency briefing by the outgoing Speaker of the 6th House of Assembly, described him as a brand that must not be allowed to change by any factor.

In his words; Comrade Ememobong said “Mr. Speaker, today we came to celebrate your unconventional approach to legislative business and assigned duties. The State Chairman of our party, PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, on behalf of the State Executive Council of the party, has asked me to extend to you our warm felicitations with a charge, ‘Don’t change the brand Onofiok Luke.’ Do not allow finances and geography to change you.”

“The people sitting with you today stood by you in 2011 and you have probably argued severally with them but fundamentally the basic definition of Onofiok Luke has not changed. The day you change, we will also change. I pray for you that Abuja will become for you a stepping stone to higher glory,” he added.

Ememobong used the medium to urge the people of Nsit Ubium State Constituency vis-a-vis Etinan Federal Constituency to continue to give him the necessary and unflinching support to enable Hon Luke record more feats in the Green Chambers as an Akwa Ibom brand.

However, while outlining his empowerment packages for the people of the area, the outgoing Speaker stressed that “he is committed to doing more for the people” in appreciation for their continual support.

In attendance at the event were Senator Effiong Bob, Hon Useme Bassey, Hon Otobong Bob, Otuekong Emmanuel Ibiok, Hon Otobong Edemidiong, Mr Victor Brown, Hon Dan Akpan among others.
