State PDP Chairman Charges Council Chairmen To Run Inclusive Govt.
In its renewed bid to strengthen the machinery of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the grassroots in line with the founding principles of the party, the state executive council of the PDP has called on the chairmen of Local Government Transition Committees to at all times defend the interest of the people by ensuring that programmes of government are implemented in their area. This was the position of the state chairman of PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, at a joint meeting between the state executive council members of the party and the transition committee chairmen, which took place at the party’s state secretariat in Uyo, recently.
Obong Ekpo said the achievements of the party in the state since the return to democracy are laudable, noting that no platform could have done better and urged them as leaders to ensure political harmony in their domain always in keeping with Go v. Udom Emmanuel’s resolve to carry every segment of the state along. In a separate meeting with the appointees of the governor, including senior special assistants, special assistants, personal assistants and project supervisors, the state PDP chairman emphasized the need to implement government policies so that they can have a firm grasp of the political situation in their area.
Obong Ekpo, also advised the governor’s appointees to endeavour to live as worthy ambassadors of the present administration, by ensuring that they propagate the message of good governance and inclusion,stressing that these are the hallmarks of the party’s democratic ethos.
He also charged them to support the party by discharging their official duties effectively always.
