PDP CONDUCTS SCREENING FOR NASS, AKHA ASPIRANTS

 

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, today commenced the screening of aspirants seeking election to the Senate, House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly.

For aspirants from Akwa Ibom State, the screening exercise which is taking place at the State Secretariat Complex of the PDP in Akwa Ibom, is handled by a 5-man screening panel for the National Assembly and a 5-man panel for the State Assembly.

Addressing the aspirants just before the commencement of the screening exercise, State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State, Rt Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Akpan said the exercise which is an extant requirement from all the aspirants by the party, will be conducted in an orderly manner and devoid of unfair treatment of any aspirants.

“This exercise is intended to ensure that the panel certifies you fit to stand the nomination. So we enjoin you to take the exercise seriously and be truthful during your appearance” The State PDP boss advised.

The State Chapter of the Party before the commencement of the screening also observed a minute of silence in honour of the late Hon. Nse Ekpenyong, who until his sudden demise was the member representing Oron Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

The National Assembly Screening panel which is headed by Barr. Edwards Ayo-Odugbesan has Barr. Ehi Iwaifo as Secretary while the State Assembly Screening Panel has Hon. Bode Ogunmola as Chairman and Mrs Victoria Madaki as Secretary.
