OUR PARTY PRIMARIES WILL BE FAIR AND CREDIBLE – A’Ibom PDP Declares

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State has restated its resolve to conduct a fair and credible primary elections to nominate candidates for various elective offices at the general elections in 2023, as well as giving every aspirant of the party an equal treatment in their pursuits to clinch the party’s tickets for the forth coming elections.

The State Chairman of the PDP, Rt Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, who re-echoed the party stance, Friday February 11, 2022, while welcoming another gubernatorial hopeful, Apostle (Prince) Aniekan Akan Etim, who visited the party leadership for consultation, maintained that as a political party that thrives on strong ideals, the tradition of equal treatment for all aspirants will be fully upheld in the build up to the 2023 polls.

In his words, “PDP in Akwa Ibom State thrives on fairness and equity. The party’s doors are opened anytime, anyday for any member to come and consult us. We assure you that there will be free, fair, credible and transparent primaries, but as we earlier advised, aspirants should maintain a sense of decorum in their engagements and let us stay on the path of peace.”

Speaking further, the Akwa Ibom PDP helmsman who commended Apostle Aniekan Etim, for honouring and respecting the party by consulting the leadership, held that the party is proud to have great members like him who have made good strides in their professional endeavor and appealed to members of the party not to leave the PDP on grounds of disagreement, saying that the umbrella is big enough to accommodate all interests.

On his part, the Itu born development economist, Apostle (Prince) Aniekan Etim, while speaking on his guber aspiration, gave insight on his manifesto which he hinted is predicated on health, food sufficiency, man power development, housing and community development, adding that given the chance the fly the party’s flag, he will gladly represent the party well at the polls.

He appreciated the leadership of PDP in Akwa Ibom State for opening its doors to welcome him and his team, pledging loyalty and support for the party, as the political season deepens.

Present at the consultation were members of the State Executive Committee of the party, the South-South Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party, Bishop Etim Ante, as well as past and serving chapter chairmen of the PDP.
