Oro Goes Agog For Orman Esin

It was a gathering of who is who in Oro Nation as Commissioner for Transport and Petroleum Resources, Hon. Orman Esin on Tuesday 20th December 2016, visited home to thank party members and other stakeholders for their support before and after the announcement of his appointment as Commissioner by Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The event which, according to the Commissioner was put together within twenty four hours drew an expectedly large crowd of supporters who thronged Skypoint Hotel to express their goodwill and register solidarity for the Commissioner.
The different leaders who spoke at the event were unanimous on their gratitude to Governor Udom Emmanuel for the appointment of an Oro son of Orman Esin’s calibre into the State Executive Council.
Former Minister for Lands and Urban Development, Dr. (Mrs) Akon Eyakenyi described the Commissioner as a grassroots politician whose experience will greatly benefit the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Oro Nation and Akwa Ibom State.
Former President of Essu Nlap Oro,Chief Asuquo Enweme charged the Commissioner to use the Ministry to raise the Internally Generated Revenue profile of the State the same way he did for Oron Local Government Area when he served as its Chairman.
Former member of the House of Representatives, Chief Peter Linus Umoh acknowledged the level of celebrations among Oro people over the appointment of Hon. Orman Esin as Commissioner,noting that Oro people deserved more than two Commissioners.He emphasized that Oro people would celebrate more if more Commissioners are appointed among them.
Also speaking, wife of former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief(Mrs) Atim Okpoyo expressed optimism that the appointment of Orman Esin as Commissioner would unite the Oro political class.
Former Commissioner for Information and gubernatorial aspirant during the 2015 General Elections, Hon. Chris Abasieyo emphasized the need for unity among political office holders of Oro extraction while former Chairman of Udung Uko Local Government Council, Hon (Mrs)Kenim Onofiok sued for support for Orman Esin.
The event was attended by a cross section of members of the Oro political class,political office holders, youths, women, party faithful etc.
