CONDOLENCE VISIT!
Earlier today, the National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, South-South Zone was at the Government House, Uyo, to condole with the leader of the PDP in Akwa Ibom and Governor of the State, His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel on the demise of the State Chairman of the Party, late Obong (Hon.) Udo Ekpenyong
The delegation was led by the PDP National Vice Chairman, South South, Chief Dan Obih.
Addressing the Governor Emmanuel, Chief Dan Obih noted that the PDP family, especially in the South-South, and indeed Nigeria, has lost a strong pillar of the party with the passing of late Obong Udo Ekpenyong.
Chief Obih said that within his short stay in office, late Udo Ekpenyong was already interfacing with the Zonal Secretariat of the Party and making robust suggestions on how to multiply the gains of the PDP in the region.
Chief Obi told Governor Emmanuel that the PDP will continue to remember the late State Chairman for his result-oriented contributions which were critical to building the PDP to become a virile party in the region.
Responding, Governor Udom Emmanuel thanked the Zonal Exco for the visit, stressing that late Obong Udo Ekpenyong had set himself apart as a servant leader who wore the virtues of Loyalty and trust as badges of honour.
Governor Udom noted “His departure is indeed a painful one to me as a person and also a painful one to the PDP family in this state which I belong to. We are indeed grateful to him for the efforts he invested in serving our state and the party. It is our collective prayer that God will grant him eternal life in heaven”.
