PDP SURE OF ELECTORAL CONQUEST WITH UMO ENO, OTHERS - Party Chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State has declared that the party is solidly positioned for another flawless record of electoral conquest in the 2023 general elections with Pastor Umo Eno as Governorship candidate as well as other candidates of the Party.

Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, who communicated the optimism of the Party when the Governorship Candidate of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno alongside the his running mate, Senator Akon Eyakenyi paid a special visit to the Party, maintained that with the positive impacts of the party in the state and the continued engagements with the electorates, PDP is ready for the polls and is certain of sweeping victory in 2023.

The Akwa Ibom State PDP helmsman stressed that in the Party’s usual tradition, the PDP will visit every nook and cranny in the State to canvass support for all candidates of the Party’s expressing the optimism that given the recurring support Akwa Ibom people have continued to give the PDP, a new story of victory is assured for the Party in the forthcoming elections.

“We are ready for campaigns and elections and we are sure of victory. The structure of PDP which has been deeply rooted since 1998 will be very difficult for anyone to dislodge.”

“PDP is going to win in Akwa Ibom State and this winning is going to be very massive. The gains of good governance that PDP has offered Akwa Ibom State will speak for us at the polls.”

“We have people in this party who have been with us since inception in 1998. We have people who have been loyal, consistent and committed to unity and progress of Akwa Ibom State. Our party is intact”, he said.

Akpan who specially applauded the courage of a front line gubernatorial aspirant of the party and serving member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. (Barr) Onofiok Luke, in his decision to remain in the party and lend his support for Pastor Umo Eno, noted that the gesture is a rare display of credibility and strength of character, while assuring the former state assembly speaker of his proper pride of place in PDP.

“Let me use this occasion to appreciate Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke for being a man of his word. He is a true party man. When he came to us for consultation, he assured us that he will remain in the party no matter what happens. We do not take this honour for granted.”

On his part, the Akwa Ibom PDP governorship candidate, Pastor Umo Eno alongside his running mate, Sen (Dr) Akon Eyakenyi, who joined the meeting, stated that the special visit to the party was informed by the need to report to the party the progress made in their bid to engage various sectors of the electorates in preparation for campaigns ahead of 2023, reiterating that their resolve to usher in a new era of economic renaissance and all round development for Akwa Ibom people remains unshaken.

“We have come here to meet with the party and reassure the party that we are a good product to market. We are strong on ground and we are committed to win the elections in 2023.”

“We have come with ARISE Agenda which is our blueprint and we will vigorously pursue this agenda to the end. The Arise Agenda will stimulate our economy and put money in the pockets of our youths, create for them, jobs that will give them the sense of dignity in labour.”

“Agricultural Revolution, Infrastructural Maintenance and Development, Security and Environmental Management, and Economic and Sound Educational Management,” make up the acronym of The Arise Agenda. We will vigorously pursue this agenda and build on the structures; development, industrialization, and infrastructure that our Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel has already put on ground.”

Meanwhile, the present State Executive Committee of the party is marking its second year in office since elected on August 3, 2020.
