A’Ibom PDP Stakeholders Reaffirm Confidence On Gov. Udom Emmanuel, Ors

The Akwa Ibom State leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has again re-affirmed it’s unwavering support for Governor Udom Emmanuel and the leadership of Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly ably led by the Speaker, Barr. Onofiok Luke.

In an address read by the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obong Paul Ekpo on behalf of the Party during the enlarged stakeholders meeting held on Monday at the banquet hall, Government House, Uyo, Obong Ekpo who also double as the Chairman of all State Chairmen of the PDP in Nigeria, said “Let us continue to support our performing Governor and his entire team and our state legislators ably led by the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke”.

He used the opportunity to brief stakeholders of the party on some issues in the party, and urged members to eschew ‘petty intraparty bickering’ and allow work together for the overall good of the Party.

Restating the support of the state chapter of the PDP to Senator Ahmed Markarfi led exco of the Party at the national level, Obong Ekpo said “May i reiterate that the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Party is totally and fully in support of Senator Ahmed Markarfi led PDP -this is our position. We will continue to give support to the decisions collectively taken by the party at the Port Harcourt convention”.
Obong Ekpo accused the APC at the national level of masterminding the problems bedeviling the PDP, but expressed hope that the party will come out victorious.

“May i further inform us that the philosophy of the Party has been reshaped by the strategic committee report, which now centers around or in fact is built on the concept of political inclusion. May i remind us of the focal strategy of my Chairmanship of this party, while we strive to maintain an open front door and closed back door policy, this policy allows the entry of as many as desire to join our umbrella, while discouraging aggrieved persons from leaving”.

“I hereby charge you our critical stakeholders to liaise with your chapter and ward chairmen to convene meetings in your areas to keep our teeming members abreast of happenings and the direction chartered on their behalf”.

Present at the meeting were Governor Udom Emmanuel, Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, members of the House of Assembly,members of the state executive Council, officials of the PDP from across the 31 local government areas, wards and chapter, among other stakeholders.
