A’Ibom PDP Holds Successful Ward Congresses

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State on Saturday gathered across the state to elect ad hoc delegates ahead of the party’s nomination exercise for the 2019 elections.

The Congress which produced three Ad Hoc Delegates for each ward across the state, recorded large turnout, was violence free and drew active participation of party faithful in all respective 329 Ward Centers.

Addressing the party faithful at the southern Iman1, Etinan L.G.A., the State Chairman and Chairman, Conference of State Chairmen of PDP; Obong Paul Ekpo said “the party in keeping with its practice will always follow layed down guidelines in conducting her affairs and thanked party members for turning out in large numbers for the exercise and also conducting themselves in a peaceful manner.

Speaking at the Awa Ward Center, Governor Udom Emmanuel commended the party faithful for keeping faith with the party and turning en masse for the Congress, and called on party members not to softpedal on their dedication and commitment to the PDP.

Governor Emmanuel said he was impressed by the outcome of the Congress and commended the leadership of the party at all level across the state for steadying the party on the path of progress.

A total of 987 delegates emerged from the exercise from the 329 wards existing in Akwa Ibom state.
