AKWA IBOM PDP STRATEGISES FOR E-REGISTRATION OF MEMBERS

In line with the on going process of e-registration of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the Governor Godwin Obaseki led National Technical Committee on membership registration of the party, the Akwa Ibom State chapter of PDP, has strategised for effective mobilization of new membership drive for the party in the state.

Addressing a meeting of the party’s enlarged Executive Committee in Uyo, Monday August 16, 2021, the state chairman, Hon. Aniekan Akpan, encouraged stakeholders of the party to ensure massive mobilization of new members, adding that advantage should be taken of the technology driven process of membership drive for the party.

Expressing confidence in the massive membership registration, Hon. Akpan noted that as a party that has held sway in the state since 1999, PDP has been firmly rooted in Akwa Ibom State and greatly accepted by majority of the people.

Briefing the enlarged party EXCO, the representative of Akwa Ibom State in the National Technical Committee of the party, Mr. Mfon Iwok, who doubles as head of the Technical Support Team for Akwa Ibom State, explained the process of the e-membership enrolment, stating that the exercise is presently at pilot stage with Akwa Ibom among the first seven states marked for the initial phase. He encouraged young people to join the party as there is a place for everyone.

Other party officers who spoke at the meeting, expressed confidence that the outcome of the electronic enrolment exercise will be of immense benefit to the party, while promising to give their best in mobilising people for the process.

The enlarged EXCO meeting also addressed other issues of party concerns including efforts to further the party’s objectives and support the ‘Completion Agenda’ of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
