UYO SENATORIAL DISTRICT LEADERS UNITE FOR PROGRESS

… As Sen. Effiong Bob Emerges Political Leader of Uyo Senatorial District

Leaders of Uyo Senatorial District under the aegis of Uyo Senatorial District Leaders Forum (USDLF) have united to pursue the progress of the senatorial district, while pledging to protect the interest of the people in the senatorial district at all levels.

In a meeting of the forum held in Uyo, the leaders who affirmed their position on the unity of the senatorial district, held that they will remain committed to the progress of the people through advocacy and strategic partnership with the government at various levels in order to attract more development to the senatorial district.

Announcing the new substantive leader of the forum, Otuekong Raphael Bassey, presented a former State Attorney General and federal lawmaker, Senator Effiong Bob, as successor to late Prince Ekpe Atakpo, noting that his pedigree is fitting to lead a prestigious forum as USDLF and in a time that the group needs leadership.

The Acting Leader of the forum, Otuekong T. O. Akpan, shortly before the presentation of Sen. Bob, expressed confidence in Bob’s ability to lead the forum and represent the interest of Uyo Senatorial District.

On his part, the new leader of the forum, Sen Effiong Bob, appreciated members of the forum for finding him worthy to pilot the affairs of the group after the demise of the pioneer leader, promising to promote what he called “politics without bitterness” in the course of supporting Gov Emmanuel’s Completion and Succession Agenda and calling for leaders of Uyo Senatorial District to remain a united front for meaningful progress to be made.

In their seperate goodwill messages, the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, National Ex-Officio of PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, Prince Godwin Ntukudeh, the National Secretary of MPM, Prince Enobong Uwah and others, extolled the virtues of Sen. Bob and pledged to stand by him to give Uyo Senatorial District a good political direction for the good of the people.

Also expressing their support to the Sen. Effiong Bob’s leadership, the Deputy State Chairman of PDP, Rt. Hon. Lawrence Udosen and the Uyo Senatorial District Chairman of the party, Hon Ibanga Brownson, assured that the party officers from Uyo Senatorial District extraction are in support of Sen. Bob.

At the meeting were also the Commissioner for Finance, Dr Linus Nkan, state legislators of Uyo Senatorial District extraction, local government chairmen of Uyo Senatorial District, Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Okon Okon, former Secretary to the State Government, Obonganwan Grace Ekong, Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Captain Iniobong Ekong, among others.
