The member representing Ibesikpo Asutan state constituency in the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly has appealed to Nigerians irrespective of religion, tribe or sex to rise up and change the APC led federal government because of the untold hardship it has brought upon the people.

In a chat with news men shortly after a well-attended empowerment program for the women at the country home of Prince Uwem Ita Etuk, Nung Udoe, the vocal lawmaker said it was the high cost of living in the country that has made people no longer have respect for constituted authority and behave as they like even when decorum is expected of them.

“A situation where you cannot even withdraw the little you have in your account with ATM cards is very painful, the country has been plunged into recession by obnoxious policies of the APC led federal government. We must change this change that has brought us pains and sorrows at a time we should be celebrating, it is sad” he noted.

The lawmaker who served as the 10th speaker of the state assembly said he decided to create wealth for the family by empowering the women saying, the financial grant to his constituents was enough to start any business that will boost the economic life of the family. “the demand for Iwot Ekporoko in our locality is high and I want our women to key in at once and triple their profit, but if you don’t want to trade on stock fish, that amount is big enough to start any business” the eloquent lawmaker reiterated.

On his political future, Hon Aniekan Uko popularly known as Iboroakam said if by 2018 there is no leg big enough to fit into the big shoe he will be living behind he will continue to wear the shoe as a true representative of Ibesikpo Asutan people known for empowerment and effective representation.

The wife of the lawmaker Mrs. Ememobong Aniekan Uko said she will continue to follow the footsteps of Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel who takes delight in empowering the women. “In Ibesikpo Asutan State constituency I will do same with our women. You call me ‘madam charge’ let me assure you all that I will continue to charge and get things for our women, I will not rest until a great number of rural women are empowered” she promised.

Meanwhile the acclaimed political leader of Ibesikpo Asutan, Prince Uwem Ita Etuk says attack at his country home could be likened to a situation where five to seven people attempt to go through a door meant for two, saying, it was a common sight and occurrence in a political event of that magnitude and assured that the experiences gathered will help the organizers plan a better end of the year convocation in 2017.

The immediate past Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning laughed off the allegation that he was manhandled by his subject also said by 2017 convocation, journalists will be given special seats where they can have a perfect view of the event. “If I was manhandled as u claimed and you were close enough to see why is your shirt so clean without being dirty” he quried?

Present at the event include the commissioner for finance, Mr. Nsika Linus Nkan, the Transition Committee Chairman, Barr Ukana Udofia, the immediate past representative of the state constituency Rt.Hon. Eyakeno Etukudo, the chapter chairman of PDP, Mr.Okon Edet Offiong among other prominent sons and daughters of Ibesikpo Asutan state constituency.
