The Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, has said the PDP in the state is well positioned for partnership in the mission to rescue Nigeria from the fangs of systemic decay which he observed is caused by the negligence of the other party in power at the center.
Akpan who spoke in Uyo Monday May 2, while playing host to a presidential aspirant of the party, Dr Peter Obi, maintained that Akwa Ibom is a bastion of the PDP and that the party in the state is strategic and well positioned for effective partnership to rescue Nigeria and restore the country back to its deserving glory.
“We say in our state that Akwa Ibom is PDP and PDP is Akwa Ibom. We have a united front. Akwa Ibom PDP is strategic, well placed and well positioned for partnership in this all important mission to rescue Nigeria from the fangs of systemic decay”, he said.
He told Dr Obi that PDP in Akwa Ibom is in concord with the general consensus that Nigeria has deteriorated and needs to be healed, holding that the only way to see to that is by voting PDP into leadership at the center.
On his part, the former governor of Anambra, Dr Peter Obi, who lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel’s PDP led administration for the development in the state, noted that only PDP can restore Nigeria and revitalize the economy for the citizens to enjoy a high sense of belonging.
Obi shared his blueprint which hinged on economic recovery and encouraged the party in the state to lend its support to rescue Nigeria from total decay.
