Akwa Ibom PDP visits late Udo Ekpenyong’s Family

… His brief administration was impactful – PDP Acting Chair

The leadership of Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late state chairman of the party, Obong (Hon) Udo Ekpenyong, to commiserate on the demise of the sixth state chairman of PDP in the state.

Visiting the family in their country home in Ikot Oku Usung, Ukanafun Local Government Area, the PDP delegation led by the Acting Chairman, Rt. Hon. Lawrence Udosen, registered their condolences on the loss the of the Obong Ekpenyong, stating that the party has lost a great pillar.

Speaking on behalf of the state leadership of PDP, the Acting Chairman, Rt Hon. Lawrence Udosen, who conveyed the message of the party to the family described Obong Ekpenyong’s demise as “a painful loss to the party which was his second family”, saying his death has dealth a great blow on the party.

Rt. Hon Udosen while extolling the qualities of the late party chairman, pointed that “he turned around the fortune of the party within the short period he superintendented in the party. He was a man that was full of life. A man of great discipline and character.”

Responding on behalf of the deceased family, the first son of the late chairman, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, thanked the party delegation for the visit. He observed that his father had led a impactful life, which he said is evident in the level of solidarity shown to the deceased family. Dr Ekpenyong noted that although the demise of his father is painful, the family is comforted in God. He encouraged the party to do the late chairman the honour of preserving his legacies.

“My father left legacies while alive. The biggest honour you can do to him is to carry on with his legacies”, he said.

Also part of the delegation were local government chapter chairmen of PDP, led by the Chairman, Forum of Chapter Chairmen, Hon. Eddy Etangkanga and some other stakeholders of the party.
