…As State Officers, Chapter, Ward Chairmen meet minds on Strategy for massive Victory
As the 2023 general elections draw nigh, the Peoples Democratic Party has begun the process of engaging a higher gear in the party’s series of strategies for success in the forthcoming elections.
At an expanded meeting convened by the State Chairman of the PDP, Rt Hon. Elder Aniekan Akpan which had State officers of the Party, Chapter Chairmen as well as Ward Chairmen of the PDP in State, the Party said with the sparkling record of achievements by successive PDP administration in the state, the PDP’s unwavering efforts in mobilising support from the people and unshaken love Akwa Ibomites have for the PDP, there is no doubt that the PDP, will emerge victorious in all categories of the 2023 elections.
Addressing the meeting, the State Chairman in Uyo, Friday August 26 mocked at what he called “futile attempt to gain relevance by pockets of political players”, while reaffirming that the party is too rooted to be moved and will not be distracted in the course of its democratic mission. Akpan lauded the steadfastness of the party men whom he said are the pillars of PDP and have stood firm with the party amidst temptations to quaver. “Thank you for remaining steadfast and working hard for the party because you believe in this party, and working together we are going to succeed.”
“Let me assure you, no adhoc party can takeover Akwa Ibom. Unlike us they will only be in existence between now and March and evaporate after the elections. We have experienced this before, it is not the first time. PDP is Akwa Ibom and Akwa Ibom is PDP. ”
Speaking further at the meeting which the chairman made a roll call of the ward officers, he admonished the ward officers to remain loyal to the party and stay positive, knowing that the people will always choose PDP over any other party, following the antecedents of development of PDP in the state. He reiterated that as usual the 2023 elections is going to be ”operation deliver your unit and every ward and unit in the state has the structure of the PDP”. He called on the ward chairmen to continue to work together in one accord to make victory very easy for the party. “Return home with greater zeal. Be proud of your party, victory is ours. In other to dismiss widely spread unfounded speculations, we have counted and confirmed before you that our ward structure is intact. I make bold to say again that there is no other party in Akwa Ibom state that can boast of a structure like this.”
In another development, the nominee for the position of the State Assistant Organising Secretary made by Elders and Stakeholders of Esit Eket Engr. Jackson Jackson today visited the State Secretariat Complex of Party as part of the beginning of the ratification process to become a State officer of the Party.
